Tradycją domu w Puszczykowie są charty. Od pierwszej połowy lat 70-tych mieszkają z nami charty. Najpierw były to Greyhoundy potem Borzoje, a teraz są to Saluki. Po wielu doświadczeniach z różnymi chartami, mogę śmiało powiedzieć, że Saluki są absolutnie wyjątkowe. W zasadzie trudno to wyrazić słowami, jednak wszyscy ci którzy je mają zgodzą się z moim sądem. Saluki jako efekt ewolucji, a nie hodowli jest czymś niezwykłym. Dobór naturalny sprawił że cechy tego zwierzęcia są właśnie takie jakie są. Łączy on dzikość i drapieżność, ze słodkim i pięknym wyglądem. W tym przypadku piękno jest zwodnicze, mamy do czynienia z dzikim myśliwym. To jest zwierze, które zawsze jest gotowe do polowania. Szalenie podobają mi się te cechy użytkowe, jakie ma Saluki. Docenia je wiele ludów zamieszkujących ogromny obszar od Syrii i Palestyny poprzez Irak, Iran, Arabię Saudyjską, Pakistan aż po Tadżykistan, Turkmenistan i Kazachstan. Na tym ogromnym obszarze rozróżnia się kilka typów chartów Saluki, od długowłosych po krótkowłose. Osobiście zakochałem się w krótkowłosych i uważam je za najbardziej interesujące pod wieloma względami.  Co do głębszych dywagacji na temat tego typu charta odeślę do zakładki historia gdzie można poczytać więcej przemyśleń na ich temat. Opieram je o liczną literaturę, którą cytuję, tak więc każdy czytelnik może sięgnąć do zasobów bibliotecznych i wyrobić sobie własny pogląd na te kwestie. Dziś kiedy piszę te słowa jest rok 2024 i nie mam w planach szczeniąt, bo nie mam aktualnie suki hodowlanej. Jednak trafiają się krycia czego dowodem są dwa szczeniaki które właśnie się u mnie pojawiły. Moje psy Rahim i Razzag są dosyć rozpoznawalne w Polsce i nie tylko. Nie wiem czy za jakiś czas nie zapragnę mieć swoich szczeniąt, więc każdy scenariusz jest możliwy. W tych sprawach proszę pytać telefonicznie.

Please be advised that on February 14, 2022, Anna Lipińska passed away at the age of 88. It will forever remain in the memory of Polish cynologists as it was immortalized in her youth in the photos presented here. Our breeding exists and will continue. Currently our dogs are still being exhibited and I have breeding plans for the coming years. I am also an active member of the Polish Kennel Club in Poznań and I work for the good of the breed and greyhounds. The website will be modified and refreshed soon. Saluki was always my dream. Not only because he is so beautiful – just living act of arts- but also because I learned how clever he is, how easy is to come into contact with this fascinating animal. Animal that love to be free and understood. So I wanted to know him and share my life with. For a long time I couldn’t realize my dream. When it became possible I did pass a lot of time with my computer and was looking for my” Saluki. This way I fall in love with French breeding Al Firdous belonging to Shera Chuat – very knowing person in the matter and true “guru” for Salukis.

Luckily she trusted me (not frequent in Saluki World) and I could make my choice: that was silver grizzle female Ghunya Raija Al Firdous. It turned out very soon that my choice is Saluki smooth, it means short haired Saluki without “feathers” on earths and tail. She is beautiful, charming, exceptionally clever, with expressive character and….she does not like cold. Is talented runner, smart and hard hunter.

Soon after we decided to buy another Saluki – for joy all of us, Ghunya included. And so Gharib Sadaf Al Firdous came to our home – Saluki feathered this time, dark grey grizzle with white. We are very happy with our two beautiful and clever Saluki.

Some words about smooth

They are bred actually at all continents, as a “desert type saluki” (feathered as a mountain type). Both type are bred simultaneously in the kennels, that advertise this fact (in Europe f.i. Sawahin, Al Firdous and o.) Selecting and assorting knowingly the breeding parental couples one can get both types in the same litter. The standard is the same for both types (the difference is mention in “coat”), so they are shown together. The knowing judge doesn’t favor the feathers – our Ghunya few times won BOB on big shows.
